How it works

Supporting this international VCS (Verified Carbon Standards) project will reduce CO₂ emissions produced by the supply of power and steam for fertilization processes. The project activity includes co-generation of electricity and heat, in the form of steam. Heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) use waste heat from gas turbines to produce steam that would normally be produced through a heat-only process. Avoiding the release of condensing heat into the atmosphere saves fuel and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. This CHP power plant project generates many kinds of impacts for the surrounding area. In addition to capturing nearly 120,000 tons of CO₂, the project improves access to health care and living standards for the surrounding population. Women in the area have access to various vocational training courses, and the company has first aid and safety facilities, with which it supports the city's civil administration. An important part of the project involves the installation of a filtration plant that benefits about 10,000 local residents. The developers have also developed a children's park to give local communities a healthier environment for families. The park covers an area of 125 x 500 yards (114 x 457 meters). In addition, the project resulted in the construction of a primary and secondary school for the community with a capacity of 1,000 students.

Benefits

In addition to producing renewable energy, the project improves access to health care and the standard of living of the surrounding population. Women in the area have access to various vocational training courses, and the company has first aid and security facilities, with which it supports the town's civil administration. An important part of the project includes the installation of a filtration plant that benefits about 10,000 local residents. The developers have also developed a children's park to give local communities a healthier environment for families. The park covers an area of 125 x 500 yards (114 x 457 meters). In addition, the project resulted in the construction of a primary and secondary school for the community with a capacity of 1,000 students.
