Direct emissions

Direct emissions are emissions that result from sources held or controlled by an organization. These emissions are generated from the use of fossil fuels and the release of greenhouse gases defined by the Kyoto Protocol into the atmosphere.

The GHG Protocol considers the direct emissions of an activity within Scope 1, providing comprehensive guidance for recognizing and calculating them. This later allows the company to reduce the CO₂ eq. emitted.
