Aeffe: Scope 1, 2, and 3 emission calculation with a decarbonization strategy and participation in the PlaNet Green Cup
The challenge
The Aeffe Group operates internationally in the fashion and luxury sector through proprietary brands including Alberta Ferretti, Moschino, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, and Pollini.
In 2023, the Group decided to establish a structured sustainability governance, integrating a medium-to-long-term roadmap into its business plan.
This decision was also motivated by the regulatory changes that have affected the fashion industry in recent years.
To meet these needs, Aeffe turned to Up2You, initiating the calculation of Scope 1 and 2 emissions in 2023 and planning the calculation of Scope 3 emissions based on 2024 data. All of this with the goal of building a tailored decarbonization strategy.
In parallel, the Group chose to invest in internal training by participating in the PlaNet Green Cup: a competition between companies within PlaNet, Up2You's digital platform dedicated to engaging and raising staff awareness on sustainability issues.

Needs and objectives
Regulatory alignment
In recent years, the fashion industry has been affected by numerous regulations that
will require companies to align in the coming years.
Expanding the scope of action
Aeffe was already performing an approximate calculation of its emissions, but needed to expand the scope of intervention to all its subsidiaries.
Complete control
The group needed a tool that would allow for a complete understanding of the company's actual emissions.
Initial difficulties
Building a strategy
Aeffe's sustainability journey only began in a structured manner recently, at the start of 2023. For this reason, support was needed to understand how to initiate a comprehensive emissions calculation.
Maintaining corporate competitiveness
Other companies in the sector had already begun to take action to promote and communicate their corporate sustainability journey, creating a gap for Aeffe to bridge.
Global market
Aeffe operates in markets beyond Europe, where perspectives on sustainability vary. Promoting a sustainability journey without compromising competitiveness has been a significant challenge.

Testimonial
“Calculating our Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions is the first step in a strategic journey toward decarbonization. We chose to partner with Up2You, whose young and dynamic team combines an innovative vision with expertise in sustainability and technological solutions. Thanks to their support, we have integrated this analysis into our corporate strategy, in line with our business plan.
At Aeffe, we are aware of the importance of reducing the environmental impact of the fashion supply chain, which is responsible for approximately 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions. The results of this activity will be fundamental in defining our future goals.”

The project
Aeffe’s journey with Up2You began in 2023 with the goal of collecting Scope 1 and 2 data, which was delivered in February 2024. This provided an initial overview of company emissions, as Aeffe had previously collected some data but had never adopted a structured approach compliant with international standards, such as the one proposed by Up2You based on the GHG Protocol.
In May of the same year, the company also decided to participate in the PlaNet Green Cup, a gamification initiative created by Up2You to engage staff and promote sustainability training in an active, dynamic, and stimulating way.
In July 2024, an in-depth workshop was held to align the team on the goals, methodologies, and phases for Scope 3 data collection.
Following the workshop, the setup of the CliMax platform began, along with the collection of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emission data for 2024. Scope 1 and 2 data were analyzed and processed between late 2024 and early 2025, providing an initial comprehensive overview of the Aeffe Group’s carbon footprint. Shortly after, in March 2025, the Scope 3 report for 2024 was completed, providing a full and detailed view of the company’s emissions.
Through this collaboration with Up2You, the Aeffe Group now understands that sustainability is a strategic lever for improving performance and has laid the groundwork for a future decarbonization strategy, which may also include offsetting residual emissions.
