Edison brings sustainability education into schools
The company
Edison has always built strong ties with the communities where it operates.
In Mazara del Vallo (Trapani) it installed two wind farms, reinforcing its commitment to developing renewable generation, a strategic growth pillar for the company. With support from Up2You, Edison engaged the community through its schools to build awareness among younger generations of sustainability, renewable energy, and recycling.

Objective
Edison came to Up2You to develop an app that would make its dialogue with the Mazara area and the local community more effective, building awareness of sustainability among middle school students.
Solution
With the PlaNet platform, Edison was able to maximize and simplify its contact with the local area and make it more appealing, using gamification to bring sustainability into schools. PlaNet is the Up2You web app that makes it possible to launch a wide range of weekly challenges, quizzes, and bite-size sustainability content that raise awareness, engage, and entertain.
Project timeline

Results
The schools took an active part, and the outcome was clearly a success: students participated as classes grouped by school, with one team per school, and got to explore a wide range of topics tied to sustainability, renewable energy, and recycling.
When the project wrapped up, we received positive feedback from teachers and from the mayor, whom Edison kept regularly updated on the initiative.
