The challenge

Reda 1865 is a leading Italian manufacturer of high-quality fabrics in merino wool.

Sustainability has been a core value at the company for more than twenty years. Reda joined the B Corp movement in 2020 and shortly afterward became a Società Benefit (Italy's benefit corporation status), committing further still to a transparent business model that looks after its people, its local area, and all of its stakeholders.

As it worked toward an ever more sustainable corporate culture, Reda decided to invest in training built to measure. It turned to Up2You with the goal of engaging everyone in the company on the environmental impacts of the fashion industry.

The training was delivered through PlaNet, Up2You's gamification platform, which made learning more engaging and more fun, driving participation and a healthy sense of competition among colleagues.

Needs and objectives

Training across the whole business
Reda wanted digital training that would reach every team and department, encouraging the exchange of ideas and internal collaboration on sustainability.

Specific, targeted training
The training project was a natural continuation of Reda's commitment to sustainability, aimed at building broader awareness of the environmental impacts of the fashion industry.

Training that builds awareness
The company wanted a program that would further deepen its people's awareness of sustainability topics and their active participation in them.

Initial challenges

Driving active participation
Finding partners who can genuinely deepen a company's knowledge base and secure real employee engagement is a significant challenge.

Building a tailored program
Platforms often offer nothing more than off-the-shelf courses, with no room to customize content around a company's specifics and objectives.

Why Reda chose Up2You

  • An innovative, dynamic approach backed by solid technical expertise
  • The option to build a tailored platform suited to the client's needs
  • Up2You's own B Corp certification as proof of its commitment to sustainability

Testimonial

“At Reda, sustainability is a company value and a continuous journey, and part of that journey runs through training and people's awareness.
We were looking for a partner who shared our vision and could support us in developing a digital training program, so we chose Up2You, a B Corp like us.
Their young, responsive, enthusiastic team impressed us from the start, and together we built a training experience tailored to us and to our industry. This partnership has genuinely strengthened our internal culture, actively involving our people and giving even more meaning to our everyday sustainability practices. "

The project

Reda's program with Up2You began in May 2024 with a masterclass for the top management team, focused on sustainability from a strategic and regulatory standpoint. The session was a valuable chance to dig into legislative obligations and industry trends and to ask specific questions, which the Up2You team answered precisely and in detail.

June and July were given over to customizing the PlaNet platform, adding the thematic modules Reda had asked for. The content covered topics central to the fashion industry, such as environmental sustainability, biodiversity, water and waste management, and the circular economy.

The internal communications work, explaining how the platform works and building up to launch, ran from July to September. The company-wide challenge officially started at the end of September and actively involved the entire staff for 8 weeks straight.

Employees were split into 17 teams that competed against each other through quizzes, interactive content, and sustainability missions. Participation stayed consistently high, with very strong engagement rates throughout the period.

The game mechanics created an atmosphere of healthy competition and got colleagues talking about the topics covered. Another incentive was the chance to earn virtual coins that could be converted into real emissions offsetting projects, generating a tangible environmental impact.

Working with Up2You, Reda built an engaging training program that raised its people's awareness of the environmental impacts of the fashion industry while strengthening the company's culture of sustainability.
