Objective

IB Chem S.r.l. came to us for a carbon footprint calculation covering 5 INTERCURE® products, in order to assess the environmental impact of the production cycle and of the products themselves.

Solution

The solution proposed to IB Chem S.r.l. centers on estimating the contribution to climate change of the business activities tied to producing 5 chemical products.

In the first phase, we defined the objectives and identified the relevant emission sources through a significance analysis.

We then ran the data collection on our digital platform. The platform streamlines the process and makes data collection granular across the business, strengthening the results while keeping the effort required to a minimum.

Next, we calculated the carbon footprint with a specific focus on the characteristics of each product. Once the quantification results were in, we identified the main areas to act on to mitigate impacts.

The output of the study is a CFP report (Product Carbon Footprint), a technical account of the procedures followed and the results achieved. The report includes the conclusions, limitations, and recommendations attached to the study.
